I would like to tell you about myself and my writing. My name is Ronit Shaltiel. I have been reading books since I was about nine or ten. But I didn't start writing until I was about 18. reading was something that everyone was doing at that time. At first, I wrote some poems. When I was in my twenties I wrote my first book. It was a collection of short stories. But all of that was to remain on a notebook or computer, it never saw the light of day.

When my son was born in 2001 I changed my genre, I started to write children's books. I have tried to publish with the traditional publishing houses. I had no luck. When I found out about self-publishing I decided to go for it. I control my contact, and I like the idea that I don't have to wait for somebody to publish my books. I have a message and I want it to be out to the world in my free time, with my timing. I am also a graphics designer, so I could do the books by my self without hiring anybody to do the work for me. My mother-in-law is an English teacher, so she is helping me with grammatical editing. Photography is one of my passions, I had the idea to use it in my books. And now the technology is ready for that. I am using photos as a background for the pages of my book.

I am working on a series of books about numbers that are traveling and having math fun together. I am planning to have 11 books on this series. It called The Adventures of the Numbers This series had started with an idea of my son. He was about 4 or 5, and he started to learn about numbers. And he was fascinated by them, I used to read to him every night. And sometimes we made up our own books. He was drawing it, and I wrote the text. And one of those books is the foundation of that series. In this book, Number 1 is searching for the rest of the numbers, and they are having math exercises together. There are also 4 coloring books that are connected to the series- Coloring with the Numbers. I have published also Holidays Coloring books.
